Salon

The Salon concept is word play, poetry posts; some with rules like Haiku and Sonnets, some just spontaneous abstract poems, some just thoughts and feelings.

Haiku rules: three lines, first and last line holds five syllables, the middle line holds seven. Haiku is minimalism and much can be interpreted from simple words, intuit meanings.

A sonnet has more rules: There are fourteen lines in a Shakespearean sonnet. The first twelve lines are divided into three quatrains with a final couplet. The rhyme scheme of the quatrains is abab cdcd efef. However, rules are broken at times – contretemps.

Perhaps Rodin has captured it best
With unrelenting stone to hold
The lovers passionate bliss attest
Legendary love in days of old.

As I hold these thoughts and ponder
Flowing salt water tears add flavor
to meal preparing, thoughts wander;
Do lover’s tears add spice to savor?

Resigned to the signs from above
Angel wings bring our mythology.
Messaged by owl, raven, and dove
Real ravishment is pure ecstasy.

We model the couple Rodin portrayed,
Showing how erotic kisses are made.

Somewhere between the mundane and the sublime
